Cataract surgery is very common and is one of the safest and most effective procedures performed today. It is a very quick procedure that usually takes about fifteen minutes!
During your appointment with us, Dr. Evans will let you know what type of lens you are a candidate for and help you decide on the type of intraocular lens (IOL) that is best for you. This is the lens that will replace your natural cloudy lens. After you decide which lens suits your needs, we are ready to get you scheduled.
You will meet with the Surgical Coordinator to schedule your surgery. Together we will discuss lens options, how the incision will be performed, location of the surgery, as well as before and after instructions.
Can I have cataract surgery on both of my eyes at the same time?
Cataract surgery is typically performed on one eye, and then a couple of weeks later, it’s performed on the second eye. This allows the first eye to recover and your vision in that eye to stabilize before proceeding with the second eye.
Will I need additional appointments after my surgery?
You will generally have two post op appointments after each surgery to make sure your eyes are healing properly and answer any questions you may have.
We are here to help you and guide you during this process. We want you to have the best experience possible.
